Reverend Bruce Wayne Henderson, Jr. (affectionately called Rev. BJ) was born February 25, 1991 in Brookside, Alabama to Reverend Bruce Wayne Henderson, Sr. & Ms. Ceola Renee Henderson.
Rev. BJ is a 2009 Honors graduate of Gardendale High School and 2013 Magna Cum Laude graduate of Stillman College, Tuscaloosa, Alabama with of Bachelor of Arts in Music and Harte Honors College Scholarship Student. He is a choral music educator in the public school system.
Rev. BJ was called into the music ministry at the age of 4 and continues to serve as an organist and musical director. He is actively involved in community service outreach and various civic organizations in the state. He is the founder of the BHJ Ensemble of Brookside, Alabama and Royal Praiz Ministries (Tuscaloosa and Birmingham Chapters). During his years of
undergraduate studies, he was member of the Stillman College Concert Choir/Tour Choir and the Christian Student Association’s Anointed Voices where he served as student conductor for both choirs.
Rev. BJ is actively involved in Gospel music. He is a member of the Birmingham Chapter of the Gospel Music Workshop of America, Inc. and the Birmingham Mass Community Choir where he serves as a Board Member as well as the Minister of Music and Co-Chair of the Youth & Young Adult Division known as Unashamed. He serves on the council of the National Board for the GMWA Youth Division. Rev. BJ is a national songwriter and recording artist.
Reverend Bruce W. Henderson, Jr. accepted his call to preach the gospel on December 17, 2009. He is a member and Director of Music and Fine Arts of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church (Tuscaloosa) where Rev. Bruce Wayne Henderson, Sr. is the pastor.
Reverend Henderson lives by 1 Peter 2:9 “But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light” and his personal testimony is “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” (Romans 8:37)
